The Serializable Attribute

You want to know if types implementing the ISerializable interface must have the Serializable attribute.

Yes, you must mark any types that are implementing the ISerializable interface with the Serializable attribute.

Why? Because a type that implements ISerializable but isn’t marked with the Serializable attribute might not be serialized under all circumstances. It may not be recognized as serializable by reflection code that checks for the existence of the attribute.
